Wishy - "Fly"

Wishy have announced a new EP called Paradise on Planet Popstar and shared a new song, "Fly."

I don't know if you've heard, but we're in the midst of a shoegaze revival and one of the scene's most exciting new bands is Wishy. Last year, they dropped their debut album and it was full of crunchy hooks and reverb-drenched guitar that sounded blown-out and packed with huge walls of sound. Not too long ago, they released a new single called "Planet Popstar" and it turns out that track is the lead from an upcoming EP (that's being billed as a double-EP and will include their debut EP as well) and now the band has shared another new tune called "Fly." As expected, it's another bleary and blissed-out tune that comes with dreamy guitar riffs, dried-out drums, and a sinewy solo to keep it in check. It even features an Ace of Base reference!  Nina Pitchkites is on lead vocals for this number and shared that "this song conveys a general theme of enjoying the present, being in love, and not taking yourself too seriously. Me, Kevin, and Steve Marino co-wrote this song around the same time we wrote the track 'Triple Seven.' It was one of several demos that Steve brought to the table for us to toy with."

Paradise on Planet Popstar is out on April 25.
