Remi Wolf played The Greek Theatre (LA)

In support of this year's albun Big Ideas, Remi Wolf played a hometown show at LA's Greek Theatre.

I'm not sure exactly when it happened, but as of the release of her latest record Big Ideas, Remi Wolf has transformed into a bona fide pop star capable of commanding the attention of an audience to deliver her hard earned message, but one that still recognizes her past as well. From the get go, Remi worked the crowd to drum up as much blitz and positivity as possible as she opened up to the audience about the story behind her tunes and how much she appreciated being able to play a venue of such stature. As it does on the LP, "Cinderella" help to kick off the night with a full blast of energy that had everyone in attendance following along to the chants of "moving those hips from left to right" without the slightest hesitation. From the opening moment, this was a show that was delivered with purpose and unabashed optimism. Working the stage throughout, there never seemed to be a dead moment in the set as Wolf crossed back and forth to make sure no one lost engagement and enlisted her band to step up to the challenge of keep us entertained as well. Each of them not only rose to the occasion, but surpassed any expectation as well. "Alone in Miami" was another highlight and as she played it, she dove more into her creative process and the events that inspired the track and her desires to live life and have fun. It was a constant theme of the evening and there wasn't a moment when you'd think Wolf wasn't having the time of her life as she dazzled the crowd with her euphoric chants and sing-a-longs. Covering Tom Cochrane's iconic "Life is a Highway" was another tender moment that she followed with the admission of "I love the movie Cars" which brought the night to a new level of fulfillment as we all laughed and exhaled from the perpetual motion of her barrage of hits. After she took the crowd's word of choice, "smooch," to fully improvise the next song, Wolf clamored back with a killer "Prescription" that led to the onslaught of more bangers such as "Toro" which had everyone out of their seats and miming bull horns as we celebrated along with Remi. By the end of the night, the rush of feelings had reached a paramount level of excitement and it was clear that Wolf was going to ride this one home with unbridled joy. Everyone in the venue was without question on the same wavelength and the general sense of overwhelming, ecstatic happiness was intoxicating.
