At the start of 2021, Mogwai released their tenth studio album, As the Love Continues. In a career first, it went to the top of the charts in the U.K. Now, the moody Scottish post-rock giants have returned with their first new single in a couple years and it features guest lyrics from the band's Barry Burn's 7-year-old daughter. "I thought it needed some melody or vocals, but I couldn't come up with the lyrics so I asked my 7-year-old daughter to make some up, and she did and I sang them." Veering away from their towering guitar epics, this one is a darker, atmospheric track that leans harder into the electronic side of the band's larger-than-life sound and while it has less of the almighty sweeping power of some of their more titanic tracks, it still has the widescreen, cinematic sound that elevates their music into something colossal and moving.
