Last we heard from Thurston Moore was his 2021 instrumental album Screen Time. He's since shared that a new record is indeed on the way and it's called Samurai Walkman: Flow Critical Lucidity. Right now, we don't have any details on the record, but it's apparently coming later this year. Today, however, Moore shared the new song "Rewilding" and it's a groovy, loose jam that goes deep on krautrock rhtyhms with a touch of psychedelia thrown into the mix as well. It's a bit of a sprawling jam with Moore's almost spoken-word vocal stylings layering over the endless melodies. It's easy to get lost in this one with the repetitive drum loops cycling throughout the song with a bit of conga-style rhythms and scattered electronics surfacing along the way as well. According to Stereogum, "the song is Moore's tribute to the rewilding land-restoration movement in the UK," hence today's release day and it features My Bloody Valentine's Debbie Googe on bass.
