Bully - "Days Move Slow"

Bully has announced a new album and shared the great new song, "Days Move Slow."

Last month, Alicia Bognanno dropped a new song with fellow indie rocker Soccer Mommy. It was a great collaboration that saw the two artists uniting their strengths as two modern stars of indie rock doing what they do best, making killer rock songs with big hooks and sweet melodies. Today, Bognanno has followed-up that single with the announcement of her band's new record, Lucky For You. Along with the announcement comes the catchy new single "Days Move Slow" which steers away from some of the grungier moments of the band's past and instead embraces more pop-focused melodies, while still keeping the crunchy guitars still a major part of the sound. Fittingly, the band premiered this song during a recent show opening for actual '90s indie icons The Breeders. There's a familiar riff that circulates throughout the track, one that again recalls '90s hey-day indie rock, and it gives a nice sugar-coating to the band's otherwise fuzzy roar. The immediacy and aggression from the band's earlier moments have faded a bit here and in turn, Alicia and company have really allowed themselves to follow their groovier moments without totally shedding their skin setting forth a sense of maturity and expressive song-writing growth that continuously sets the band up for success and signals them as yet another torch carrier of a sound that refuses to fall out of focus.

Lucky For You is out June 2 on Sub Pop.
