It's already been quite the year for Glenn Donaldson. He released the excellent record Summer at Land's End as the Red, Pinks and Purples, reissued his albums as Vacant Gardens on vinyl and added them to streaming services, started a new group called Helpful Friends and shared an EP from that project as well. In addition to all of that, he's put out some standalone singles under his main project and a live session from the BBC too and according to a comment on his Instagram account, he's got two more 12" on the way. Even with all of that in the works, this weekend, he wrote, recorded, and released two more tracks that are now available on his Bandcamp page. "The World Should Be Ashamed" tells it like it is over long, drawn-out, droning tones, a slight shift from the poppier moments on his other tracks, and gives his usual brightness a darker cloud of sorrow. His impressive knack to write at such speeds continues to amaze and to see the progression in these two tunes adds great depth to his already illustrious discography.
