Angel Olsen shares another new one from her upcoming covers EP, Aisles.
It's been a prolific few years for Angel Olsen. In 2019, she released the stunning album, All Mirrors, followed it up with 2020's companion piece, Whole New Mess, bundled it all together with this year's Song of the Lark and Other Far Memories, and now has an '80s covers EP ready to drop next month. She also dropped the song of the year contender "Like I Used To" with Sharon Van Etten and will team up with her again this year for a Velvet Underground cover. Now, after sharing her take on Laura Branigan's "Gloria," she's back with her own rendition of Men Without Hat's "Safety Dance." When talking about the song, Olsen commented "I felt this song could be reinterpreted to be about the time of quarantine and the fear of being around anyone or having too much fun. It made me wonder, is it safe to laugh or dance or be free of it all for just a moment?" Hopefully, we'll all be able to laugh, sing, and dance together soon.
Aisles is out on August 20.
