New York shoegaze band A Place to Bury Strangers recently announced a new EP and have now shared the second single.
Once billed as the loudest band in New York City, A Place to Bury Strangers are back with a new EP that drops later this summer. With a new line-up and new record label, the trio continues on their path of brutal noise that is sure to leave your ears ringing. "I Might Have" finds them skewing from their traditional wall-of-sound cacophony and more towards the noise-pop of the Jesus and Mary Chain as a motorik drumbeat anchors the track behind shreds of guitar. It's still noisy as hell and full of massive guitar hooks, but a bit more traditional in terms of structure. "'I Might Have' is about the insecurities of life and growing up and when you just have to turn around and say, 'Fuck it,'" Oliver Ackermann said about the track. "Life sucks, so we may as well have a good time."
Hologram is out July 16.
