Carly Rae Jepsen is still riding high on the success of last year's excellent Dedicated (one of my favorite albums of 2019), but has already shared a new single "Let's Be Friends."
As expected, the latest from CRJ is another certifiable jam, but one that feels a bit low-key compared to previous stunners like "Run Away with Me" or "Cut to the Feeling" and rides on the vibes of Dedicated's more subdued sounds. A catchy acoustic riff kicks things off before the electro-pop perfection and squelching beats grab hold. It's a nice hold-over until her next big hit and a nice reminder that even her one-offs are still worthy of our attention.
