"Light Years" is a haunting, gorgeous ballad that feels like a classic National track. Elegant piano trickles underneath Matt Berringer's classic baritone making for a sweet and sorrow-filled track sure to stir up plenty of feelings. It's slow, dark, and has some subtle strings that sweep up the end of the track for an emotional pull. It's an interesting choice for a single as it doesn't have the pop and power of some of their deeper tracks, but it highlights their beauty and shows a much more vulnerable side of the band.
