Linda Perhacs - "Winds of the Sky"

On September 22, Linda Perhacs will release her third record, I'm a Harmony. Following last year's single "The Dancer," Perhacs has shared a second song from the record, "Winds of the Sky" featuring Nels Cline of Wilco.
After releasing her debut record Parallelograms in 1970 to little notice, Linda Perhacs disappeared from the scene and into obscurity. At the turn of the new millennium and the rise of the internet, the cult status of Perhacs began to grow. Following the continued rise of her lone album, Perhacs reemerged in 2014, forty-four years after her debut, to deliver her sophomore follow-up The Soul of All Natural Things. Now, Perhacs has returned with a kickstarter-backed third record and a killer line-up of support musicians including Devendra Banhart, Julia Holter, and Mark Pritchard on tracks and Wilco's Pat Sansone and Fernando Perdomo working as co-producers. New single "Winds of the Sky" is a delicate number that gently unfolds into a rich, bold complexion aided by Nels Cline's wailing guitar. It's a modern and welcomed take on a sound that still feels so fresh and empowered. Listen to it over at Brooklyn Vegan.
