After announcing their reunion and headlining festivals around the world last year, LCD Soundsystem have finally shared brand new music.
While we still don't have a release date, track list, or even an album name, we now have two brand new LCD Soundsystem songs. "Call the Police" and "American Dream" are a one-two punch of heavy synth, thumping bass, and Murphy's longing vocal ache. In particular, "Call the Police" feels like a classic LCD track. Its driving force is fueled by humming synths and a hard disco beat that seems to build forever, a krauty drum beat backed by buzzing guitar. It's a huge, soaring song that takes parts of everything that made LCD so fantastic the first time around and breathes new life into the band. They may be back from the dead, but this is no zombie track. "We all / we all know this is nothing" Murphy croons at the start of the number. However that couldn't be further from the truth. This is everything and it's happening here and it's happening now!
