When you're a young artist and you have an album as critically acclaimed and well received as good kid, m.A.A.d city, it takes a lot to conquer the anticipation tied to the follow-up. (See the Strokes, Interpol, Nas)
When Kendrick Lamar dropped "i" last fall, some certainly questioned whether Lamar would live up to the hype. Yesterday, he dropped "The Blacker the Berry" and while there is still no official word on the new album this is a fiery piece that will ignite any of the doubters and highlight that Kendrick still has plenty of venom left in his bite.
